"Petravia" Puglia Aglianico IGT2019 - Masseria Altemura

Deep ruby ​​red, aromas of cherry, blackberry. Spicy notes such as black pepper, juniper berry. Prominent structure, lengthy and persistent finish.

Because of its complexity and consistency, it is ideal with both feathered and furred game, dishes made with duck or pheasant, venison or wild boar, and matured cheeses.

Aglianico, one of the noblest varietals in Southern Italy, finds the "pietra viva", the "living, fertile soil" at Masseria Altemura that it needs to fully express all its extraordinary power and aromatic complexity. Petravia is a red wine with great concentration with prominent tannins, that can successfully evolve from the more rounded profile and exuberance it has while young, in which the fruit emerges with considerable vitality, to greater elegance and austerity, distinctive traits of maturity in great Aglianico wines. Ageing takes place in 350 and 400 litre tonneaux for 15 months and in the bottle for another 12 months, with excellent ageing potential.
